What does a cloud consultant do?

A cloud consultant decides how a product should run on a cloud provider and then builds it: the account and network layout, the compute and database services, identity and secrets, infrastructure as code, the release path, and a review of what each part costs. At Clouditive every resource lives in code with a plan you read before it applies, and a change that would destroy something stops first.

DX Clouditive belongs to the partner programs of AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. Our published cases run on AWS and Google Cloud; we work on Azure in the same way, in code.

Start with Discovery (USD 7,000, 1 to 4 weeks) when the target is still open, or with CI/CD & IaC (USD 4,000, 2 weeks) when the cloud is decided and the infrastructure has to be built or rebuilt in code.

What you get, step by step

Everything in the package, in the order it lands. The price and the duration stay the same.

  1. Step 1:

Understand your product and its configuration end to end.

  2. Step 2:

A full roadmap: backlog, roles, critical changes and needs.

  3. Step 3:

Daily meetings and progress reviews with your team.

  4. 1–4 weeks

    USD 7,000

Frequently asked questions

Which clouds do you work on?

AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. DX Clouditive belongs to the partner programs of all three. Our published cases run on AWS EKS and on Google Cloud.

Do you have an Azure case?

Not a published one yet. We work on Azure the same way we work on AWS and Google Cloud: infrastructure as code, a plan read before every apply, and releases that deploy the exact tested build.

How much does cloud consulting cost?

Discovery is USD 7,000 for 1 to 4 weeks and ends with a roadmap. CI/CD & IaC is USD 4,000 for 2 weeks. By the hour, a Senior engineer is USD 45–50 and a Lead or Architect USD 55–60.

Which infrastructure-as-code tools do you use?

OpenTofu and Terraform with encrypted state, Atlantis for plan review and Crossplane for self-service infrastructure on Kubernetes.

Can you cut our cloud bill?

We start by attributing every line of the bill. For one client, moving metrics and logs off a commercial APM saved about USD 5,000 a month. We don't promise a percentage before reading your bill.

Start from the bill itself, line by line, and attribute every line to a service or a team before changing anything. Then act where the money is: workloads sized above their historical peaks, tools billed per volume that open-source alternatives can replace, and environments nobody uses. For a US transportation services company, moving metrics and logs off a commercial APM to open-source observability cut about USD 5,000 a month.

A case is one client's result, not a promise. A saving shows up on the invoice or it isn't one, so we measure it there.

Do you offer 24x7 support?

No. We work in your business hours and leave alerts and runbooks so your own on-call can resolve incidents.

Who owns the accounts and the code?

You do. Engineers use your own accounts and identities with SSO and MFA, least privilege, revoked at exit, and all code is yours from day 1.

In which language do you work?

100% in English, Spanish or Portuguese, whichever your team uses. Our engineers are in LATAM, between UTC−3 and UTC−5.

AWS consulting: EKS with separate dev and prod accounts

For a fintech portfolio-analytics SaaS platform we run platform engineering on AWS EKS, with dev and production in separate accounts. Infrastructure goes through Terraform and OpenTofu with Atlantis, and a move to Crossplane runs as zero-downtime cutovers, each with a rollback.

Releases promote through Argo CD and Kargo with automatic checks, and the cost figures in the developer portal come straight from the cloud billing API.

Google Cloud consulting: a full platform in OpenTofu

For an AI marketing platform we built from zero, the whole Google Cloud setup is OpenTofu: Cloud Run services and jobs, Cloud SQL Postgres with a private IP, Cloud Storage, a global load balancer with Cloud Armor, KMS, workload identity and Secret Manager.

A BigQuery billing ledger and a per-call cost ledger show what each part of the product costs. Releases are tag-driven, migrate the database and deploy by image digest.

How do you plan a cloud migration without downtime?

Write the target in infrastructure as code first, so every create, change and destroy shows up in a plan before anything moves. Then move one service at a time, each step with a cutover you can reverse and a check that proves the new path works. We ran infrastructure moves this way on a fintech platform, as zero-downtime cutovers with a rollback for each. Discovery ends with that sequence in the roadmap.

We don't publish a cloud-to-cloud migration case yet. What we publish is the method and the infrastructure work behind it.
